    Duties

    Responsible for performing administrative duties, managerial, and financial support services in the maintenance of the Trust Fund Department. The duties involve coordinating and following-up on a variety of administrative tasks flowing into the department to ensure timely and appropriate action is taken.

    Provides administrative and managerial guidance to the various aspects of the Trust Fund Department, which includes business operations, methods and procedures of Trust Fund and Warehouse, Laundry, Trust Fund Accounting and Commissary System (TRUFACS), inmate telephones (TRUFONE), Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer Systems (TRULINCS), and Commissary operations of the Trust Fund Section and coordination of Trust Fund activities, finances, and supplies.

    Responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating local policies and procedures for the warehouse, laundry, commissary, TRUFACS, TRUFONE and TRULINCS.

    Responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling the budget for multiple appropriations to include salaries and expenses and Trust Fund.

    Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution.

    The staff's correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on regular and recurring basis.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements:

    Education

    GS-12 and GS-13: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this grade level.

    OR

    Specialized Experience

    GS-12 and GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.

    Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
    GS-12:
    Experience providing administrative and managerial guidance to the various aspects of the Trust Fund Department, which includes business operations, methods and procedures of Trust Fund and Warehouse, Laundry, Trust Fund Accounting and Commissary System (TRUFACS), inmate telephones (TRUFONE), Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer System (TRULINCS), and Commissary operations.
    Experience in financial oversight of obligations/disbursements as it relates to the Trust Fund (reporting, general ledger analysis, budget monitoring of operations, profit sharing funds, and inventory control).
    Experience in developing, implementing, and coordinating local policies and procedures for the warehouse, laundry, commissary, TRUFACS, TRUFONE, and TRULINCS.
    Experience in overseeing the laundry/clothing room operations, warehouse operations, and commissary Sales.
    Experience developing, monitoring, and controlling the budget for multiple appropriations to include salaries and expenses and Trust Fund.

    GS-13:
    Experience providing direction for all Trust Fund operations within a multi-institution complex to include the planning, coordination, and managing of work and staff.
    Experience in training and consulting on personal computers involved with Trust Fund systems.
    Experience serving as the technical advisor to supervisors and other technical personnel on administrative procedures, unusual operating problems and the need for changes in the warehouse, laundry/clothing issue, commissary, TRUFACS, TRUFONE, and TRULINCS programs.
    Experience researching, interpreting and applying a variety of highly complex and specialized Trust Fund accounting, budgeting, and accounting operations.

    If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.

    In accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3307, a maximum entry age of 36 has been established for initial appointment to a position in a Bureau of Prisons institution.

    The representative rate for this position is $113,751 per annum ($54.50 per hour).

    Special Conditions of Employment Section:
    Initial appointment to a supervisory/managerial position requires a one-year probationary period.

    The incumbent is subject to geographic relocation to meet the needs of the agency.

    Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a urinalysis, physical, and background investigation. All applicants are subject to National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and credit checks.

    All applicants not currently working in an institution will be required to complete a qualification inquiry regarding convictions of misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence in order to be authorized to carry a firearm.

    The Core Value Assessment (CVA) is an in-person assessment that must be facilitated at a Bureau of Prisons Human Resource Servicing office. On the day of the scheduled interview, a CVA will be administered. The applicant assessment must be completed within a 70 minute time period and a passing score must be obtained. Further employment consideration will not be extended if the applicant fails to complete the examination or fails to achieve a passing score. Note: The Core Value Assessment will not be administered to current BOP employees.

    Successful completion of the "Introduction to Correctional Techniques," three-week training course at Glynco, Georgia is required.
