    EMPLOYEEE BENEFITS ADMININSTRATOR

    The Employee Benefits Administrator acts as the key client interface for all assigned clients and their worksite employees regarding Benefits on the Trion Solutions platform, beginning at account handoff and continuing throughout the term of the business relationship. The Benefits Administrator ensures client expectations are met. This role will assist in helping to ensure that processes support and adhere to current laws, and regulations.

    Position Responsibilities: 100.00% - Responsibility #1- Client Benefit Administration
    • Collects, compiles, and creates client files to include cost sheets, plan choices, correspondences and benefit enrollment material.
    • Completes benefit set-up into the HRIS by populating and assuring all client deductions, cost shares, benefit groups, etc. are entered correctly and tested.
    • Creates and manages client and employee files in the HRIS system.
    • Provides benefit checklist to COBRA administrator to send compliance documentation for COBRA by the established due dates.
    • Updates all providing carriers with enrollment data as needed.
    • Creates custom employee benefits packets and/or other materials in support of open enrollment.
    • Provides census data to clients / providers upon request.
    • Runs new hire and termination reports, as well as other eligibility reports as necessary for each client.
    • Performs benefits audits as necessary. Reviews and reconciles carrier invoices for clients, where applicable.
    • Runs ACA reports as requested by clients.
    • Ensures appropriate employee dependent set up within the carrier system.
    • Verifies payrolls prior to processing, working directly with the payroll processor on each account as needed.
    • Ensures Trion and our clients maintain the highest level of compliance in all areas.
    • Discussions and meetings with other internal departments relating to benefits, 401k, HR and accounting.
    Responsibility #2- Client Relations
    • Communicates with key client personnel both verbally, and in written form, to understand the clients expectations of plans and set up, processes and procedures.
    • Immediately responds to all client inquiries regarding Benefits within one business day of receipt.
    • Acts as the single point of contact for all benefit inquiries, complaints, and/or needs of assigned clients to ensure requirements are successfully met, thereby increasing client retention.
    • Exceeds all client expectations.
    Responsibility #3- Government Regulations
    • Stays up to date on all compliance changes as they impact the Benefits Department.
    • Follows all state and federal laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Protects the company from liability and exposure.
    • May assist in completing all benefits regulatory reporting requirements (ACA).
    Responsibility #4- Personal Development
    • Keeps up to date on changes to benefit law/regulations and state and federal law through continuing education and publications.
    • Continues to learn and grow as a Benefits Administrator/Professional through continuing education.
    • Completes all mandatory training by established deadline.
    • Shares ideas that will help you and/or the company grow.
    • Additional job duties as assigned.

    Performance Measurement: Accurate (no errors and/or complaints), timely (by deadline) and consistent with required duties.
    Attendance
    Alignment of personal and Company goals and objectives.
    Follows benefit law/regulations, and all state and local laws. As well as company policies and procedures.
    Provides timely (by deadline), accurate (no errors and/or complaints) and complete benefits reports.
    Completion of mandatory training by established deadline.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: EMPLOYEE BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR - 3 to 5 years work experience in Benefits or related field required.
    Experience in PEO (Professional Employer Organization) preferred.
    Highly ethical with the ability to understand and review state and federal law, as well as company policies and procedures.
    BS/BA degree in business, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Understanding of basic ACA regulations principles.
    Knowledge of federal and state compliance requirements.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    Prism experience preferred.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, grammar, spelling, format).
    Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
    Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    Committed to exceptional client service.
    Demonstrated problem solving skills.
    Excellent organizational and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
    Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization and demonstrate a team-oriented work style.
