Employment Law Attorney is responsible for analyzing proposed and established legislation, preparing legal documents, and reviewing company policies. Advises management on legal matters and ensures compliancy to protect company against legal liability. Being an Employment Law Attorney requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. RESPONSIBLITIES / DUTIES:
Partner with local school boards to offer legal guidance and protection. Advise school boards & administrators on a range of matters including staff relations, pupil rights and obligations, IDEA and Section 504 compliance, school construction, contract procurement, state audits, and many other issues. Offer clients broad support in related areas such as employment and environmental law. Conduct training sessions. Attendance at school boards meetings. Draft board contracts and other documents. Representation of the board in litigation before New Jersey courts, the New Jersey Commissioner of Education, the New Jersey Public Employee Relations Commission and other administrative agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
· Admitted to New Jersey Bar.
· Minimum of 1-year legal practice in education law, preferred, with a thorough knowledge of New Jersey Education laws.
· Demonstrated skills in advocacy, mediation, and interviewing.
· Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail and accuracy, and the ability to work in a deadline driven practice, required.
· Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer software programs.
