Job Overview:
Law firm seeking a full-time attorney to handle transactional cases in the areas of Estate Planning, Small Business, and Elder Law. Rune Law is a central Maine-based law firm which focuses in these areas. Applicant should expect to work four days a week, M-Th, for an average of 6 hours a day. Applicant may also be required to work some Fridays, depending on clients’ needs. Paid holidays. Unrestricted paid time-off within reason. Pay listed is a starting salary, with opportunities for growth and bonuses, based on earned revenue.
Ideal candidate would be somebody who is a recent law school graduate, a first- or second-year attorney, or an experienced attorney looking to transition into a new area of law. This position is a transactional, client-centered role and will include little-to-no litigation, court interaction, or communication with opposing counsel. Applicant would be trained, no prior experience is required.
Estate Planning and Elder Law are the primary focus of the firm. This is a nuanced and highly specialized area of law. Rune Law is seeking an attorney who is committed to learning the details of this area under the guidance of the lead attorney. Applicant should expect to shadow lead attorney, learn through educational materials, as well as examples, and self-teach. Applicant should further expect to spend a considerable amount of time speaking to, and working directly with clients. A cornerstone of Rune Law’s mission is education – educating its clients into making informed decisions about their planning.
Responsibilities:

· Self-teach, perform legal research, and educate themselves on the law; and

· Present at legal seminars,
· Travel for said seminars;

· Licensed to Practice Law in the State of Maine (or expected to have Bar licensing very soon)
