Endoscopy Technician performs various direct patient care activities in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of a physician. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly. Being an Endoscopy Technician may assist with medical procedures. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Endoscopy Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Endoscopy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. - You will assist the physician with the full range of therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopic procedures, including specialized procedures. - You will participate in the on-call rotation, and in the provision of endoscopic services to outreach locations.
Education Qualifications:Job DescriptionEducational Requirements:
- Completion of healthcare program (such as LPN, CA, NA, EMT, etc.) or equivalent technical healthcare training, education or experience
Required Qualifications:
- 8-12 months of related experience in healthcare or patient care experience
- Medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrating proficiency assisting with routine diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopic procedures including, screening flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and EGD, and experience assisting in specialized procedures
- Experience using electronic medical record
