Endoscopy Technician performs various direct patient care activities in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of a physician. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly. Being an Endoscopy Technician may assist with medical procedures. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Endoscopy Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Endoscopy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Job Summary: On the job training will be provided for department-specific skills. Assists the RN and Physician during Endoscopy and Bronchoscopy Procedures. Ensures procedure room is appropriately setup for each procedure. Performs bedside clean and high-level disinfection of endoscopes and bronchoscopes. Assists with transport of patients to and from the Endoscopy Department. Assists in pre-op and post-op care of patients under the supervision of an RN.
Qualifications: Certification of completion of CNA I program and maintains requirements for listing on CNA registry. BLS certification required.
