    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Endoscopy Technician I is responsible for the care and maintenance ofendoscopes and accessory equipment utilized for medical procedures, following infection controlguidelines, hospital policies and manufacturer recommendations. Tasks are performedindependently and under the supervision of licensed staff.

     

    SHIFT & SCHEDULE:

    FT / 6:30 am - 3 pm

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:· Ability to assess, project and plan for procedural needs.· Perform routine duties in a timely manner.· Communicates effectively with physicians and team members.· Supports and practices in accordance with Hospital policy, procedures and protocol.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:· High school diploma or equivalent.· Knowledge of infection control principles.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialresponsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
