The Monterey Bay Endoscopy Center LLC is seeking a compassionate Endoscopy Technician/Medical Assistant who is interested in working at our busy Ambulatory Surgery Center in Monterey, California.
Our Endoscopy Center serves a diverse population of outpatient ambulatory surgery patients. Providing diagnostic and therapeutic Colonoscopies and Upper GI Endoscopy care, to the adult and elderly patient. As a team member, you will work closely with nine physicians, registered nurses, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and endoscopy technicians. Our facility has four procedure rooms, six admit and recovery areas. Our facility is looking for the right candidate to work at our fast-paced Endoscopy Center, while joining a great and knowledgeable medical team.
Essential Job Functions
Greet and check-in patients, using the facilities EMR. Obtain patient vital signs and waive testing when required. Verify patients’ consents are on file. Clear written and communication skills. Able to perform essential job duties, within scope of practice in a multi-disciplinary team. Post-operative patient care duties assist patient dressing and ambulation. Provide safe transport via wheelchair to patients designated driver.
After orientation is completed in pre- and post-operative departments. The candidate will be trained as an Endoscopy Technician. Under the direct supervision of the physician and Registered Nurse the candidate will be trained in techniques related to routine and therapeutic interventions of Colonoscopies/ Endoscopies. This will include setting up and breaking down the procedure room, assisting with patient positioning, handling of tissue specimens. Scope handling and bedside disinfection.
