    Position Summary: The Director of the Energy Services Department (ESD) has the direct accountability of the Energy Services programs which consists of multiple government and utility funded programs (approximately $16.5M in grants a year, 8,000 projects annually) that produce a sizeable portion of revenue for the entire organization.
    The Director of Energy Services is responsible for consistent budget review of all ESD programs and implementing continual improvement to develop further efficiency and efficacy and will participate in contract negotiations, maintain direct contact with funders/political associates/partners, overall supervision of program management and work closely with CIO for assurance of protocol procedures of ESD.
    The Director of the Energy Services Dept. also works in collaboration of other CHN efforts including consulting for Detroit Single Family Project and ongoing Detroit Projects and works continuously with other CHN Departments (HEAP, PIPP and Water Affordability) for further leverage and support.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for the successful performance of the Energy Services Department including production, staffing, compliance, and financial performance.
    • Creating and maintaining a culture of excellent customer service, accountability, and compliance.
    • Tracking program delivery, establishing production goals, tracking adherence to those goals, and the goals set by clients and senior management.
    • Providing vision and leadership to direct reports and team.
    • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Establish new and build-upon existing relationships with funders of weatherization and utility programs including City of Cleveland, State of Ohio, Dominion Energy Ohio, Ohio Partners of Affordable Energy, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, City of Cleveland, and partnering agencies throughout the State of Ohio and Detroit.
    • Final review and authorization of all billings, accounts, and program reports prior to submission to funders.
    • Ability to utilize Salesforce and construction management software applications to effectively utilize and efficiently manage projects and programs.
    • Evaluate program data to develop and improve organizational processes and overall program delivery.
    • Attend community, board, and funder meetings as necessary.
    • Member of Ohio Partners for Affordable Energy Board (OPAE).
    • Acquire continued education when needed (travel as necessary).
    • Support our ongoing and new business in Detroit.

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
    Required:
    Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
      • Industry related certifications: Basic Facilities Management, NFPA Fire Protection Systems, Lead Safe Weatherization, OSHA 30, ASHRAE 62.2, Baseload Measures
    Experience:
    • At least 5-10 years’ experience in complex program deployment and oversight with direct budget supervision
    • Demonstrable experience in leading programs and managing teams
    • Experience in residential construction, contracts, workforce management, and scheduling.
    • Experience dealing with general public with an emphasis on low-to-moderate income consumers and supporting families in crisis
    • Knowledge/experience with public and private funding sources.
    • Experience working for high-volume provider of construction services across multi-trade disciplines.
    Skills:
    • Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Community Organizing, Building Management and Low Income Tax Credit Housing; knowledgeable of Grant Writing, LEED Requirements and sustainability.
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize several programs and collaborate with other internal and external partners.
    • Budget analysis, contracts, business writing and communication.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with funders.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent customer service ability.
    • Microsoft Office: specifically Word, and Excel, comfortable learning and adapt to CHN and funder databases.
    • Accepting of change, communication skills, team building, trustworthiness, ethics.
    Other:
    • Travel required for meetings and trainings required by program provider
