Energy Dispatch Director jobs in Galveston, TX

Energy Dispatch Director directs the real-time operations of energy dispatch centers. Responsible for ongoing transmission and distribution of energy. Being an Energy Dispatch Director aware of generation expectations and is responsible for minimizing risk and maximizing efficiency and economy. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Energy Dispatch Director demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Typically reports to a top management. The Energy Dispatch Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Energy Dispatch Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Qualifications
    Education/Certification/Licensure
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Associate’s degree in electronics or computer science desired
    • Texas driver’s license and pass MVR driving record check - must meet eligibility
    • requirements for CCISD motor vehicle insurance
    Special Knowledge/Skills
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of computerized energy management
    • Basic knowledge of hardware and software of building automation systems
    • Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as digital volt meters, flowtronics
    • Ability to work in confined areas
    • Ability to pull and install DDC control cable
    • Ability to work flexible schedule
    Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of technical training or hands on experience in facilities energy management program

    Major Responsibilities and Duties
    • Assist the Energy Manager in the installation of DDC controls and other components to enhance the total energy management program.
    • Program requested facility schedule for air conditioning and heating usage.
    • Respond and assist the Energy Manager to determine appropriate temperature settings for work order requests.
    • Assist the Energy Manager to determine appropriate response to any HVAC work order requests for DDC evaluations.
    • Rotate with Energy Manager for after-hours emergency calls.
    • Be available for after hour demands.

    • Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.

    • Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
    • Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
    • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
    • Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
    • Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
    • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
    • Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
    • Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
