1 | SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
We are seeking a Director of Accounting who will functionally be the Deputy Controller, a role critical to our accounting leadership team. This position is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial statements of this multi-entity enterprise. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a proven track record in financial management within a public company environment. One Energy is preparing to go public via a reverse merger with a SPAC in 2024, with rapid growth expected thereafter.
2 | MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead the preparation and accurate reporting of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations. Particular focus on intercompany eliminations, cash flow, statement of equity, and accounting reconciliations.
· Coordinate with external auditors as required. Manage the preparation of schedules, data, and answers for audit inquiries.
· Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Provide clear and concise financial information to Leadership. Support investor relations by providing information necessary for earnings releases.
· Work closely with multiple internal stakeholders on technical accounting matters, including project structuring, to ensure transactions are appropriately recorded on the financial statements.
· Provide support to Director SEC Reporting as necessary on a quarterly basis.
· Work with the Director of Technical Accounting on complex matters.
· Perform special projects and analysis as directed by accounting and finance management.
3 | ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to Head of Accounting. Eventual supervisory responsibility for multiple Staff Accountants.
4 | SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Thorough understanding of job costing and of the relationship between job cost reports, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate/build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
