Energy Dispatch Director directs the real-time operations of energy dispatch centers. Responsible for ongoing transmission and distribution of energy. Being an Energy Dispatch Director aware of generation expectations and is responsible for minimizing risk and maximizing efficiency and economy. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Energy Dispatch Director demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Typically reports to a top management. The Energy Dispatch Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Energy Dispatch Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     SUMMARY :

    Dispatch / Alarm Monitors are responsible for performing their duties in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. They may be responsible for issuance and storage of keys;

    alarm and fire system monitoring; coordinating response to incidents, accidents, injuries, and / or illnesses; and other additional duties as required by supervision / management.

    Applicants selected will be subject to a background / security investigation and must be drug free and remain drug free during period of employment.

    This position reports directly to their assigned Shift Supervisor

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    • Provide alarm and CCTV monitoring, internal, tactical communications with security personnel, and external notifications to local emergency first responders.
    • Operate communication equipment to receive incoming calls for assistance.
    • Dispatch personnel and equipment to a scene of emergency.
    • Operates telephone console to receive incoming calls for assistance.
    • Questions caller(s) to determine the nature of the problem and type and number of personnel and equipment needed, following established guidelines.
    • Scans status charts and computer screen to determine units available.
    • Monitors alarm system signals that indicate location of fire or emergency.
    • Operates two-way radio to dispatch police, fire, medical, and other personnel and equipment and to relay instructions or information to remove units.
    • Types commands on computer keyboard to update files and maintain logs.
    • Maintains, updates Blotter, updates files and maintain logs, tests communications and alarm equipment, and backup systems to ensure serviceability.
    • Tests communications and alarm equipment and backup systems to ensure serviceability.
    • May provide pre-arrival instructions to caller, utilizing knowledge of emergency medical techniques.
    • May activate alarm system to notify fire stations.

    NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION :

    • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Possess the knowledge and ability to perform all required guard services duties.

    Experience :

    Possess experience in Emergency Dispatch as well all required state certification(s) operations.

    Requirements :

    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
    • Have no felony convictions and no convictions that reflect on the individual's reliability including those crimes classified under the Lautenberg Act.
    • Must be 21 years of age to be armed.
    • Be a citizen of the United States.
    • Possess a valid state driver’s license (all positions herein may require the use of a motor vehicle).
    • Possess any / all required State Security Guard licenses / permits.
    • Obtain / Maintain Government approval.
    • Must have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture during the previous five years. Drug testing and screening may be conducted prior to hiring an employee.
    • Annual drug testing may be conducted.

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES :

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Ability to accept and respond to new emergent and unique project task requirements.
    • Ability to present ideas clearly and succinctly both in writing and verbally to co-workers, team members, internal department groups and personnel as well as outside entities to include other departments.

    • Employees must be able to stand for prolonged periods in performance of their gate guard duty.
    • Shall be free from any communicable disease.
    • Shall possess binocular vision, correctable to 20 / 20 (Snellen) and shall not be colorblind.
    • Shall be capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 20 feet without benefit of artificial hearing devices.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT :

    • Work is typically performed in both an uncontrolled and controlled environment; as such, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States and for TTO are required.

    May require occasional travel.
