Energy Manager monitors the organization's energy usage. Develops and implements practices and procedures designed to reduce energy consumption and/or improve efficiency of usage. Being an Energy Manager prepares annual budgets associated with conservation programs. May research alternative/renewable energy technologies and determine their feasibility and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, Energy Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Energy Manager work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     • Regular and Consistent Attendance
    • Develop strategies and policies to minimize energy and utility costs.
    • Lead quantitative analysis and work to deliver on-time results.
    • Provide expertise in the areas of analytic modeling for asset valuation and risk management.
    • Devise new approaches to represent results that provide support for decision analysis.
    • Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations.
    • Perform analysis of power market operations.
    • Solve complex analytic problems to make mission critical decisions for energy supply.
    • Create reports to monitor energy and utility usage and costs.
    • Stay informed of current market trends and rebate opportunities.
    • Manage relationships with energy and utility providers.
    • Coordinate and track utility account start/stop requests.
    • Manage and track energy benchmark reporting as required.
    • Work with other departments regarding implementing energy and utility conservation strategies.
    • Be involved with negotiations for energy and utility contracts.
    • Create educational material aimed at training staff in energy efficient methods.
    • Assist as a resource for scoping, building deploying and launch activities.
    • Work collaboratively across all functions while building strong relationships and credibility through joint research and analysis.

    Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or other related field.
    • Master’s degree preferred in one of the above.
    • At least 3 years of experience in any combination of the following: electric utility industry, consulting finance, or economic forecast modeling and data analytics.
    • Strong data analysis.
    • Knowledge of various analysis tools and ability to build forecast models.
    • Experience managing energy usage in a commercial context and creating procedures and process to minimize energy costs.
    • CEM Certification strongly preferred
    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

    Language Ability:
    Must have good reading, writing, and speaking skills to effectively communicate with studios, managers, and co-workers.
    Math Ability:
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to develop and interpret charts.
    Reasoning Ability:
    Perform under pressure and/or opposition at times relying on your own independent judgment and knowledge to decide the best directions and solutions.
    Computer Skills:
    Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, database software
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
