Energy Representative is responsible for providing energy efficiency advice to customers. Develops, communicates, and monitors programs related to energy efficiency, sustainability, waste management, and environmental impact. Being an Energy Representative develops and distributes educational material; evaluates and recommends alternatives to existing systems or processes. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Energy Representative typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be an Energy Representative typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Energy Auditor

  • CET is urgently hiring for an Energy Auditor to work with homeowners primarily in South-Western Connecticut (New Haven and Fairfield counties) to identify energy efficiency and electrification opportunities for previously underserved communities.


    The Energy Auditor is responsible for performing diagnostic tests, installing instant savings measures, and explaining program offerings and incentives. Energy auditing experience preferred, but not necessary. We will train the right candidate who has the base skills for the job!


    Primary Function

    Energy Audits: Conduct energy audits of existing homes, including combustion safety tests and other diagnostic tests. Analyze data. Install instant savings measures such as aerators, light bulbs and thermostats while onsite. Using software, quantify savings and produce reports documenting recommendations, including building electrification opportunities


    Customer Service and Sales: Provide excellent customer service during and after the audit. In particular: listening to customers to understand their needs and motivations; clearly and intelligently answering customer questions as relate to energy efficiency and electrification; effectively communicating recommended energy saving measures; following up with customers as needed.


    Data and Project Management: Ensure that recommendations comply with program requirements for incentives and rebates.  Accurately enter audit data into appropriate databases and complete documentation and reports in a timely manner.


    Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements

    • Good math skills with ability to perform basic geometric calculations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to provide excellent customer service and education about improving home energy efficiency.
    • Ability to obtain Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification.
    • Ability to learn and perform a variety of diagnostic tests.
    • Experience as an Energy Specialist, Home Energy Auditor, or Energy Technician preferred.
    • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office and Handcock or Neat modeling software preferred. 
    • Ability to work independently and spend the majority of time in the field, while also collaborating with CET’s Technical and Operations teams.
    • Drivers’ license, a good driving record, access to a reliable, insured vehicle large enough to hold a blower door and other equipment, and ability to drive extensively throughout the region.
    • Must be able to pass drug test and background check.

    What We Offer

    This is a full-time salaried exempt position. CET offers excellent benefits including vacation, holiday, and personal/sick time; medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; and a retirement plan with a company match.  

     

    Vehicle Stipend: You use your own vehicle, and CET provides a monthly stipend of $750 

     

    Mileage Reimbursement: CET pays mileage at the prevailing IRS mileage rate (currently $0.67/mile).  


    Home Office Stipend: CET provides a monthly $85 stipend for your home internet and/or phone expenses.
