This is the position of Engineering Aide, Central Engineering Department, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. The purpose of the position is to provide systems engineering support to various projects.Key Responsibilities
- Performs selected tasks that require the application of basic principles in the technical area of Electrical Engineering.
- Participates with senior personnel in designing electrical projects.
- Participates with senior personnel in implementing and testing electrical projects.
- Assists in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
● Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles.● Knowledge of and skill in applying commonly used design principles, procedures, or operations acquired through classroom or on-the-job training in the field of Electrical Engineering.● Ability to learn new software● Knowledge and skill in using standard MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint applications.● Skill in oral and written communication.
