First Capital Engineering, Inc., a successful multi-disciplinary firm with excellent client relationships, seeks an energetic, survey party chief. Our staff is the key to our success. This individual shall team with other in-house professionals to offer superior services while working in an enjoyable environment. Positions not only have opportunities for advancement but also have the opportunity to be mentored by various Registered Professionals. Our projects are primarily located in the Baltimore Corridor and South Central Pennsylvania.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Minimum of 5 years of land surveying field experience using numerous types of survey instruments (LEICA GPS, LEICA Robotic total stations, digital levels, etc.).
• Proficient in use of all survey equipment.
• Experience working on DOT survey projects is required.
• Experience with construction layout is required.
• Experience with boundary and topo surveys is required.
• Experience with ALTA surveys is required.
• Select and implement proper maintenance of traffic signage and follow safety precautions.
• Lead, supervise and mentor instrument operator(s).
• Ability to download and transmit data to and from the office.
• Keep legible accurate and complete field notes & sketches.
• Hold a valid current driver’s license.
• Willing to travel /- 2 hours from office. Occasional overnight stays will be required.

• Accurately records and reports daily forms per project requirements
• Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor

• Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget
• Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting
• Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week
• Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues
• Understands OSHA Safety Standards and FCAP corporate policies and follows them at all times
• Inspect and correct your own work before turning it in
• Perform all task assignments using required industry standards
• Review all work assigned to you before beginning your work
• Work with your team to maximize your production and accuracy to help us achieve our goals
• Maintains all required certifications and participates in training courses as required
• Understands all applicable industry standards for project and performs all tasks per standards and client requirements

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
