Role Description

This is a full-time position for an Engineering Manager on-site in New York City, with some flexibility for remote work. The ideal candidate has a strong background in structural engineering (bridges and/or tunnels) and has project management experience or is growing into a project manager role. The successful candidate will join the program management team at GMA Engineering:

• Manage procurement of design-build and design-bid-build contracts
• Provide structural engineering design reviews and design oversight
• Manage project schedule and budget
• Manage external engineering consultants
• Prepare reports and other deliverables
• Provide extension of staff services to MTA, Amtrak or other Governmental Agencies
• Flexibility to wear many hats on a diverse variety of tasks. Lead and teach junior staff
• Self Motivated nature and willingness to learn, continue professional development, and participate in industry events

The Engineering Manager will be working on a variety of mega-projects in the transportation and infrastructure industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Lead structural designer experience (Bridge and/or Tunnel)
• Project management skills with experience in planning, scheduling, and execution of projects
• BE or BS in Structural Engineering
• PE in New York State
• 8 years of industry experience in bridge or tunnel design
• Proficient in MicroStation and Bentley Products
• Finite Element Experience
• Familiarity with and design experience using AREMA, AASHTO, ACI, and AISC codes

Preferred Qualifications:

• ME or MS in Structural Engineering
• OpenBridge, LARSA, CSI Bridge, or ETabs experience
• 10-15 years of industry experience in bridge or tunnel design
• Engineering management experience with a record of success in leading engineering teams
• Experience performing inspections and providing resident engineering services
• Experience as an owner’s representative or extension of staff to MTA, Amtrak, or other Gov. Agency

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $90,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
