    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • You will lead, motivate, mentor, and support a small team of talented engineers while fostering a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
    • Become a trusted source of technical leadership and guidance for your team members and cross-functional colleagues to promote the efficient and accurate resolution of technical design problems and advance our proprietary lighting technology.
    • You will set ambitious team goals and apply lean workflow methods to meet reasonable project timelines.
    • You will take full ownership and accountability for the production and maintenance of all CAD assets and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the information provided. You will also support and continue to build upon the advanced CAD workflow implemented over the past two years.
    • As a department lead, you will ensure your team maintains a complete and accurate database of all materials, components, and sub-assemblies. You will also support Sales, Marketing, and Product Development by timely producing related assets such as customized product drawings, assembly guides, and test results.
    • You will prepare a project plan, including resource requirements/allocations, timelines, and deliverables. As your performance is based on the ability to define and meet project goals, you will provide regular reports to the executive team demonstrating progress and achievements.
    • You will ensure the integrity of the design is upheld by recommending product enhancements that improve customer experience and increase product quality.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
    • A minimum of ten years of experience in engineering roles related to lighting systems or related consumer / commercial products, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
    • Previous experience in a leadership or management position is required.
    • Preferred expertise in lighting system design, including knowledge of related technologies.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information to the team.
    • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate a team towards common goals.
    • Proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges and make sound technical decisions.
