Engineering Manager manages all engineering activities within a department including design, development, production and testing. Implements and maintains overall engineering objectives and initiatives. Being an Engineering Manager confronts and solves performance/operational issues to improve development efficiency. Leads and develops the engineering team. Additionally, Engineering Manager oversees a robust project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. As an Electrical/Electronic Systems Technician (also known as Machine Controls Developer, Automation Systems Specialist), you'll develop, build, and maintain machine controls, instrumentation, heating and automation systems. - Experience in printed circuit board diagnosis and repair, interfacing and programming industrial controllers and PC computers, programming with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE Fanuc, high frequency power supply and controls troubleshooting, servo motor drives and controls, and control panel design and building.
- Strong communication, organization, and procedural skills, good computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, and physical ability to stand for long periods, walk long distances, climb ladders and stairways, stoop, bend, sit, and lift heavy objects.
