Responsibilities
Billing Specialist Job Summary:
- Verifying benefit coordination
- Understanding authorization processes and procedures
- Clean claim submissions
- Reconciling insurance EOB’s and patient accounts
- Defining and resolving centralized billing issues
- Monitors and maintains accurate aging reports to ensure timely collections
- Identifies and researches issues related to unpaid or rejected claims
- Interacts with third party payers, patients or clients to resolve outstanding claim issues
- Answers calls/questions from patients, third party payers, clients and co-workers in a timely and professional manner
- Identifies, researches and reports status of delinquent or overpaid accounts
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Must have 2 years of previous medical billing, coding experience.
- MS Office, basic office support skills (telephone, filing, data entry) and basic math skills.
