Key Responsibilities:
Billing:
Generate and submit accurate and timely claims to insurance providers, following established billing procedures and guidelines.
Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and pre-authorization requirements.
Review medical documentation to ensure proper coding and billing accuracy.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and departments to gather necessary information for billing purposes.
Address any coding or billing errors, discrepancies, or rejections and resubmit claims as necessary.
Update billing software or systems with current patient information and charges. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain necessary information for billing purposes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and guidelines.
Payment Posting:
Receive and process payments from patients and insurance providers.
Accurately record payment details and apply them to the appropriate patient accounts.
Reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve any posting errors.
Ensure that payments are properly allocated to outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles, and other charges.
Update billing and accounting systems with payment information.
