Job Summary:

The Billing and Posting Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and operation efficiency of the healthcare facility. This position involves accurately processing and managing billing activities, posting payments, and resolving any discrepancies to ensure timely reimbursement and compliance with regulatory standards.

They are responsible for maintaining financial records, handling billing inquiries, and assisting in the resolution of billing disputes. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of healthcare billing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing:

Generate and submit accurate and timely claims to insurance providers, following established billing procedures and guidelines.
Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and pre-authorization requirements.
Review medical documentation to ensure proper coding and billing accuracy.
Coordinate with healthcare providers and departments to gather necessary information for billing purposes.
Address any coding or billing errors, discrepancies, or rejections and resubmit claims as necessary.
Update billing software or systems with current patient information and charges. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain necessary information for billing purposes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and guidelines.

Payment Posting:

Receive and process payments from patients and insurance providers.
Accurately record payment details and apply them to the appropriate patient accounts.
Reconcile payment discrepancies and resolve any posting errors.
Ensure that payments are properly allocated to outstanding balances, co-pays, deductibles, and other charges.
Update billing and accounting systems with payment information.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of experience in collections, preferably in a healthcare environment
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information

Salary and Benefits: Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits may include health insurance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
