    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Enrollment Counselor is responsible for coordinating the student recruitment process in accordance with the College budget and service standards, while assisting the Manager or designee in leading the enrollment team and improving the processes of the day-to-day operations of the department.

    Position Responsibilities

    Essential Duties:

    • As assigned by Manager or designee, lead and manage Enrollment staff in various areas.
    • Work with Enrollment Manager or designee to train and onboard new team members and assist in the development of existing staff within the Enrollment department.
    • Assist Enrollment Manager or designee in improving the processes of the day-to-day operations of the department.
    • Assist with development and updates of departmental key metric performance standards.
    • As needed, assist in coordinating and participate in Galen internal and outside recruitment and networking events, such as: Open House, New Student Orientation, Graduation, Career Fair, High School fairs, etc.
    • Provide admissions appointments, campus tours, and enrollment appointments, assisting prospective students through the application and enrollment process.
    • Communicate with prospective students through extensive use of phone calls, emails, text messages, and other various Galen systems.
    • Maintains continuous, detailed communication documentation in the student information system or CRM for prospective students throughout the enrollment process.

    Other Duties

    • Maintain confidentiality of all prospective students and student information. Follow guidelines by regulatory bodies such as FERPA, the Department of Education, other Galen accrediting agencies, federal, state and local laws, etc.
    • Maintain current knowledge of college policies and processes and relevant accreditation and regulatory requirements.
    • Participates in development and training opportunities as requested by the College.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
    • Experience: Experience in managerial or leadership roles, with at least two (2) years of successful sales or marketing experience preferred.
    • Skills: Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must be responsible and accountable for striving to reach individual, as well as departmental goals. Must be a team player by assisting and encouraging other Galen employees.
    • Special Qualifications: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to secure access to all Department of Education websites, including, but not limited to NSLDS, COD, CPS, etc. Candidates should have no active student loan default history.
    • Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to sit at a desk for eight hours at a time. Must be available to work flexible schedule to include some evenings and occasional weekends.
    • Degree of Supervision: Minimal
