Enterprise Architecture Director directs the architectural design, development, and deployment of an organization's overall IT systems. Leads the strategy, management, and implementation of the systems architecture function. Being a Enterprise Architecture Director ensures that systems are designed to consider functional requirements, scalability, and security. Evaluates system solutions based on user needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Additionally, Enterprise Architecture Director identifies and researches potential technology products to enhance solution delivery. Participates in creating strategies and policies to meet overall business goals. Oversees implementation of architecture system and advises adjustments to top management. May require a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Enterprise Architecture Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Enterprise Architecture Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Summary: The Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in aligning our IT architecture with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both enterprise architecture principles and agile methodologies, along with excellent communication and leadership skills to drive collaboration across different teams and levels of the organization.

    The enterprise architecture business solutions will focus on building the architecture vision for application harmonization, simplification from current state to future state and provide the architectural direction to modernize software development and management platforms.

    The position plays a significant role in defining and executing the strategy with M&As at Ingersoll Rand meeting the business and IT objectives.

    This position will champion change throughout the IT organization as well as the corporation, providing visible improvements and tangible returns on investments. The successful candidate possesses strong management and leadership skills combined with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively across all organizations within the company. This leader must challenge the status quo to continually evolve technology team members, supported technologies and services to drive operating efficiency, and enable the business process.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture, ensuring alignment with business strategy and agile principles.
    • Collaborate with Business Owners, Delivery Teams and other stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable architectural strategies and solutions.
    • Evaluate existing IT systems, applications, and technical debt within the organization, identifying opportunities for architectural improvements and modernization efforts. Formalize strategy to reduce technical, application and business debts.
    • Build current state to future state roadmaps across business segments, application platforms and regions.
    • Design and guide the implementation of scalable, resilient, and adaptable IT architectures that support the needs of delivery teams and the larger enterprise.
    • Provide architectural guidance and oversight to Business Solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, patterns, and best practices.
    • Drive continuous improvement of the enterprise architecture practice fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and learning.
    • Define and execute acquisitions of software and technical platforms in close collaboration with purchasing, legal, security and business stakeholders.
    • Create product use frameworks for various applications, technologies to drive consistency, standards.
    • Work closely with other architects, technical leads, and development teams to promote consistency and alignment across different solution domains and agile teams.
    • Collaborate with DevOps and IT Operations teams to ensure that architectural solutions are operationally feasible, scalable, and maintainable.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on IT strategy, investment decisions, and risk management.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Proven experience 10 working as an Enterprise Architect or in a similar role within a large organization, with a focus on implementing architecture.
    • 10 experience in functional or technical roles for key ERPs like SAP, Oracle. Experience in SAP S4 Migrations, Transformations.
    • Functional knowledge in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance.
    • 5 experience in modern practices - DevOps, AIOps, MLOps.
    • Experience in managing architecture in growth company with M&As.
    • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and methodologies, as well as the principles and practices of the SAFe framework.
    • Proficiency in designing and implementing complex IT architectures, including cloud-based solutions, microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically evaluate technical solutions within the agile context.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving architectural initiatives to completion.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF Certified, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Architect) are a plus.
    • Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of enterprise architecture, agile methodology.
    • Demonstrates strong and highly effective interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain long-term relationships, coalitions, and networks.
    • Demonstrated experience managing external vendors for mutually beneficial relationships.
    • Extensive knowledge of IT governance, operations, security practices, and audit compliance.
