Enterprise Architecture Director directs the architectural design, development, and deployment of an organization's overall IT systems. Leads the strategy, management, and implementation of the systems architecture function. Being a Enterprise Architecture Director ensures that systems are designed to consider functional requirements, scalability, and security. Evaluates system solutions based on user needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Additionally, Enterprise Architecture Director identifies and researches potential technology products to enhance solution delivery. Participates in creating strategies and policies to meet overall business goals. Oversees implementation of architecture system and advises adjustments to top management. May require a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Enterprise Architecture Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Enterprise Architecture Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     JOB SUMMARY

    Administers all finance, human resources, and facilities and other operational activities for small to mid-sized academic or research program. Administers major program components, and some or all of the program's operational requirements. Develops and organizes conferences and other public forums. Works under direction of Principal Investigator to establish center agenda, funding, objectives.

    Working with the Director, the Assistant Director actively seeks out and supports new funding opportunities and collaborative partners on- and off-campus. The Assistant Director facilitates involvement in collaborative and interdisciplinary contracts and grants in support of the Blum Center, partners and projects, and serves as a divisional liaison to the UCSC Office of Research.

    The Assistant Director interacts regularly with administrative and academic units across campus and external entities, representing the Blum Center, the Social Sciences Division, and UC Santa Cruz; manages ongoing relationships with partners, affiliates, and collaborators; and fosters new relationships between UC Santa Cruz and prospective affiliates and collaborators. The Assistant Director participates in fundraising for the Blum Center and its affiliate programs, working with the Division's Development staff on donor and alumni cultivation, engagement and stewardship.

    The Assistant Director is also responsible for external communications of UCSC's research accomplishments in the social sciences to the public, press, foundations, government and the UCSC community, promoting the Blum Center through marketing, communication, and strategic outreach.

    Salary Information: $85,000 -$95,000 / annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience. Salary proportionate to time worked.

    JOB DUTIES

    40 % Administers a small to mid-sized program with primary responsibility for administrative and programmatic activities.

    30% Works with program leadership to identify and pursue funding opportunities and revenue streams.

    20% Participates in the budgeting and accounting processes to support financial infrastructure of the Blum Center.

    5% Assesses the Blum Center's mission effectiveness, and recommends changes to its content, policies, and procedures accordingly.

    5% Serves on committees representing the Blum Center, participating in short term and long term planning.- title

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
    • Academic background and experience in selected area of research.
    • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
    • Strong written communication skills.
    • Strong oral communication skills.
    • Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.
    • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Terminal degree in a related field preferred (PhD, JD, MD, etc.).
    • Solid fundraising experience.
