Our client, an independent secondary school, is seeking an Assistant Director for Enterprise Applications. The Assistant Director for Enterprise Applications is responsible for the integrity, availability, security, and integration of the enterprise and departmental applications and database systems; as well as directing the personnel that manages these resources.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develops and executes long-range plans for enterprise software, hardware, and databases, in conjunction with the Director of ITS.
• Collaborates with the Administrative Offices to identify, and implement or develop, solutions to support business processes.
• Manages large-scale IT projects, including collaborating with implementation consultants, developing timelines, assigning, and directing staff resources, developing communication plans, and measuring and reporting progress.
• Guides the development of integrations between systems, and creation of shared institutional databases to support needs for metrics and business analytics.
• Supervises the Enterprise Applications staff to effectively manage overall work performance, objectives, and professional development.
• Manages the operating and capital equipment budgets for enterprise software, hardware, and services.
• Maintains relationships with major vendors, oversees contract negotiations, and monitors contracts and renewals.
• Develops effective and comprehensive technology policies including business continuity, disaster recovery, and security procedures and plans, in conjunction with the Director of ITS and the Assistant Director for Infrastructure and Security.
• Provides leadership within the department and shares responsibility for management of the department in the absence of the Director of ITS.
• In collaboration with the Director, coordinates the recruitment, orientation and training of new ITS employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 5-7 years of IT management experience.
• Experience at an educational institution preferred.
• Extensive project management experience.
• Knowledge of enterprise systems and experience with database management systems.
• Proven track record as a successful manager of technical professionals.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Willingness and ability to learn additional technologies as needed.
