Enterprise Infrastructure Director manages and coordinates the information systems that will adequately support the organization's enterprise infrastructure.     The STAR Program within Summit Utilities was created to build the next generation of organizational leaders. The STAR program is a 12-month rotational program where the Analyst will spend 3-months in IT, and 2-months in each major functional business area during the program. The goal of the program is to develop local SAP Utility talent. 

     

    We have an exciting opportunity for a STAR Enterprise Business Analyst with the ability to work in a hybrid environment in either Fort Smith or Little Rock Arkansas.

    ***This position is not expected to start until August 2024***

     

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This STAR Enterprise Business Analyst role will be a 12-month position that will rotate through IT and four major Business Areas – Customer Experience (SAP-ISU/C4C), Finance (S/4HANA/FICO), Field Services (S/4HANA/FSM), and Enterprise Asset Management & Supply Chain Management (S/4HANA/EAM/SCM) – with placement within the organization upon successful completion of the program. 

    This role will work with IT and business leaders across all levels to learn the daily functions of each area; define project goals and direct them; and assist in the design, testing, implementation, training, and support of Summit’s SAP ecosystem. This role will be provided with the opportunity to gain good leadership and organization skills as well as build best practice business skills achieved through daily interactions with management and IT department members.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Learn and execute the duties and responsibilities of the different functional areas within the rotation
    • Depending on the candidate’s interest, background and area of study, duties within the rotation could include but are not limited to the following:
      1. IT development within SAP and integrated systems
      2. Create and maintain applications to support SAP systems
      3. ABAP development; troubleshooting technical issues, creating technical documentation
      4. System development and support between SAP, CRM, Customer Portal, IVR, and Data Warehouse platforms
      5. Creating and maintaining reporting SQL functions
      6. Customer Experience activities; call-center, billing, credit & collections, new services
      7. Support in one or more SAP ISU functional areas such as: FICA, Billing, Device Management, EAM and C4C
      8. Financial process support; including assisting with month-end/year-end close activities
      9. Creating, reviewing, posting, and/or approving financial documents
      10. Field Operations development and support; including dispatching and completing job orders
      11. Supply Chain activities; verifying inventory orders and levels, creating, receiving, and/or approving orders
    • Collaborate and support functional leaders, decision makers, system owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operational requirements for Enterprise IT projects
    • Partner with System integrators and SAP to design a robust ERP solution.
    • Analyze complex business processes, research products, recommend strategies, and obtain buy-in from business partners.
    • Work with Business Subject Matter Experts to analyze current operational procedures, identify areas for improvement and offer viable solutions
    • Assist functional teams in identifying and prioritizing upcoming projects, goals, approach, and deliverables supporting the business objectives
    • Participate in the implementation, testing, rollout, and training for new and enhanced system functionality
    • Work with users to gather business requirements, determines the best way to deliver those requirements, and support system development and testing
    • Work with business stakeholders to create detailed use cases, process flows, test cases and test scenarios to implement quality solutions
    • Document inconsistencies/issues/concerns for follow-up and/or resolution by business and IT teams as needed
    • Assist IT and Business SMEs to create and update training documentation and content as necessary
    • Assist in creation and updates of Business Process Procedures as necessary
    • Work closely with appropriate IT teams to ensure technical best practices
    • Act as a liaison between business end users and IT development teams. Consultant on analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance to ensure optimal operational performance

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Business Administration, Information Technology Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
    • Basic knowledge of networking, PCs, servers, and database systems
    • Proficiency with process mapping tools (MS Visio, Lucidchart, Google Drawings)
    • Utility industry experience and knowledge of business processes is a plus
    • SAP experience is a plus

    • Ability to Establish and manage effective relationships with business leaders and key SMEs, as well as technical team members
    • Capacity to develop a strong understanding of the company’s core business processes and their alignment with key IT systems
    • Robust presentation, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills at all levels of an organization, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic and rapidly evolving organization
    • Capable of developing short and long-term plans for areas of responsibility; Owns both successes and failures with humility and integrity
    • Has keen attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow
    • Understanding of the software development life cycle
    • Can be effective while primarily working remote and connecting with peers and stakeholders virtually
    • Occasional travel may be required (up to 30%)
    • Competent leading activities on structured team development projects
    • Excellent client-facing skills working closely with internal and external parties to document business requirements, issues, key decisions, and action items
    • Strong organizational and project management skills
    • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
