    POSITION SUMMARY

     

    The Sales Director, Civil Infrastructure Products leads a regional sales team in promoting and selling our comprehensive line of civil infrastructure products. This role involves managing a team of regionally focused account executives, account managers, and estimators to drive customer acquisition, development, and estimating processes. The regional sales team drives revenue growth, develops, and executes strategic sales plans, and ensures customer satisfaction. The Sales Director is responsible for cost-effectively attaining revenue and profitability targets. 

     

    Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role supports our operations in Northern California, Northern Nevada, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii. The ideal candidate will be based within the region (e.g., Northern CA, Reno, etc.). Finally, this is a hybrid role with a travel requirement of between 30-50%.

     

     

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

     

    • Lead a team of account executives, account managers, and estimators to achieve sales targets and objectives. Secure and retain the best talent, drive productivity, and manage performance.  Spend significant time in the field alongside the sales team to provide hands-on leadership, support, and coaching (minimum monthly and as needed).
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to acquire new customers and drive growth within the regional market.
    • Ensure the team is well-versed in the complete product line, enabling them to communicate features and benefits to customers effectively. Assist with the development of product line training materials and interactions.
    • Coordinate with engineering and technical sales teams to assist customers with custom-engineered product applications and drive growth.
    • Work with sales operations and sales enablement to train the team on customer needs, the Jensen commercial process, and efficient utilization of Salesforce CRM and ensure team compliance with the requirements.
    • Regularly review open opportunities (minimum weekly) to determine top targets and collaborate with account executives on deal pursuit.
    • Work with account managers to develop key account plans for retaining and growing target customers and regularly review key account status and health. Develop personal relationships with the top 25 key accounts.
    • Review any complaints or problems and manage cases to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Interlock with customer service, planning, manufacturing, and logistics operations to successfully implement sales strategies.
    • Analyze data and market trends to determine focus areas and provide accurate sales forecasts.
    • Manage a budget for the local teams and develop effective compensation plans with quotas.
    • Orchestrates successful tradeshows and events, including selection, planning, booth management, lead generation, and networking. Prepares sales team to showcase products, gather market intelligence, and foster client relationships for post-event conversion and continuous improvement.
    • Continually provide feedback and suggestions to product management and provide suggestions to add new products and make enhancements and improvements to existing products.
    • Seek self-improvement and learn new skills and tools by attending professional development training conferences on an annual basis.
    • Participate in Jensen Revenue team regularly scheduled meetings and events.

    Qualifications


    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

     

    The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated sales and account management history and in-depth knowledge of the civil infrastructure construction industry. Experience in collaboration with product management, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams is highly desirable. Other attributes include but are not limited to:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited university or equivalent building materials industry work experience. MBA and/or P.E. preferred.
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Building Materials Industry sales with 3-5 years of management experience.
    • Strong coaching and leadership skills with a focus on team development.
    • Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with clients.
    • In-depth knowledge of the regional construction market and customer needs.
    • Expertise in market and competitor analysis with the ability to develop and present actionable plans.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and the ability to train and guide the team on its effective use.
    • Proven success in managing budgets and developing compensation plans.
    • Data-driven decision-making abilities.
    • Experience in financial analysis, sales forecasting, and reporting.
    • Technical aptitude to understand and promote custom-engineered product applications.
    • Strong organization, interpersonal, and project management skills.
    • Professional writing skills and ability to construct a well-written email with clarity and efficiency.
    • Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional team members.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
    • Superior time management skills and ability to complete tasks on time.
    • Willing to travel up to 50%
