    The Opportunity

    The Enterprise Drayage Operations Specialist is a critical role within a high energy and ever-evolving department that supports our drayage pick-up and delivery services for our highest volume client’s. This position encompasses someone with a strong background in logistics, drayage and port operations, and a drive for excellence. They will be responsible for building and maintaining shipments within our Transportation Management System (TMS) and providing a world-class end-to-end logistics experience. This role requires a person with a great sense of organization and can collaborate with colleagues to develop unique and creative solutions for whatever means our clients' needs for smooth transportation services.

    What You Will Do

    • Builds shipments in our TMS, schedules container pick-up and delivery appointments, and manages the financial data of the shipments
    • Partner with the Drayage Sales team facilitate the end-to-end drayage move
    • Builds key relationships with both truckers and customers to ensure Steam Logistics is seen as best-in-class service provider; proactive communicator via phone & email follow up
    • Fully knowledgeable of all operational aspects of the TMS and how the workflow is setup to be as efficient as possible; brings and promotes suggestions on how to enhance and automate processes
    • Effectively communicates and offers solutions when capacity problems arise, as well as ensuring LFD’s and Port Cuts are prioritized
    • Excellent sense of container tracking to ensure we avoid all detention, per diem, storage, etc.; Comes up with unique and effective solutions to eliminate these costs

    Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

    • Bachelors Degree preferred or an equivalent of education/experience.
    • 1 years of logistics experience required; 3 years preferred. Preference given to those with specific drayage experience.
    • Proactive, independent, and reliable in a fast-paced, team environment.
    • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and self-motivation skills with an entrepreneurial mindset.
    • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
