The Operations Supervisor will work closely with Production Management and functional teams such as Quality, Materials, Human Resources, Maintenance, and Manufacturing & Product Engineering to deliver excellent performance outcomes that include but are not limited to team safety, product quality, and productivity. This position requires effective collaboration and communication skills to ensure the successful execution of manufacturing objectives. The Operations Supervisor will be based out of our Kentucky Trailer Manufacturing site located at 7201 Logistics Drive, Louisville KY 40258.
Shift - Monday through Thursday 4pm-2:30am (B CREW)
The expected starting salary for this position is $70,000 per year.The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in high volume manufacturing environments and a proven track record of success in driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate should also possess the following skills and experience:- Experience with Lean manufacturing tools, specifically those used to problem solve such as 5Y, 8D, A3.
- Supervision experience of teams greater than 20 employees.
- Experience with machine operations (PLC) preferred.
- Experience with blue prints and build drawings a plus but not required.
Responsibilities:- Strictly enforcing safety practices to include implementing hazard mitigating controls.
- Managing manpower and work schedules to ensure the area is appropriately staffed.
- Planning and organizing vacation coverage, time & attendance, absenteeism, associate and management meetings, and clarifying and enforcing company policies.
- Providing technical manufacturing support to front line teammates and upholding quality and craftsmanship standards.
- Leveraging Continuous Improvement and Lean practices to champion change and improve total plant performance.
- Managing labor utilization and resources to achieve product cycle time targets and schedule adherence requirements.
- Developing employee skill analysis and executing training plans.
- Owning the process of associate development and feedback and developing and delivering appropriate disciplinary action and associate performance appraisals.
- Developing bench strength through cross-training and flexible work assignments.
