Information Technology positions are responsible for the security of UC Institutional Information and IT Resources. The incumbent is required to follow all applicable information security policies, procedures, and standards to maintain minimum standards of information security for data, systems and applications. Supervisors are responsible for making sure their staff have appropriate security skills and qualifications, and complete all appropriate and required security training.
JOB SUMMARY
As our Information Technology footprint evolves, so do the changing requirements of our campus, business partners, stakeholders and consequently the work for technical teams that enable access to information technology, both systems and data. This position will play a key role in sustaining, developing or improving partnerships with business partners and key stakeholders throughout the campus. In addition, this role will be helping to create new ways of working within the technical teams in the IT division that foster a collaborative and business oriented viewpoint and support current and evolving technical processes and practices in a growing and changing environment.
While technical expertise is a component of this position, it is equally important to understand how the information technology needs of stakeholders serve and support the mission critical business and daily operational needs of a variety of administrative units across campus. Being able to move between the functional and technical domains is equally as important as technical expertise in this role.
The Enterprise Platform Development team manages enterprise applications that support the finance; alumni, donor, friends; and HR staff systems. Areas of focus include finance information, advancement information, time and attendance, payroll, benefits, facilities and human resources systems. The Enterprise Systems portfolio includes implementations of Ellucian Banner, Cruzpay (Workforce), Famis360 (Accruent), and UCPath (Peoplesoft) and the team supports UCSC customizations to these systems, as well as the data exchanged between users, campus systems (internal and external), and third party vendors.
The Enterprise Platform Development Supervisor receives assignments in the form of objectives from key business partners and/or stakeholders and/or from their manager and provides direction to staff according to established policies and management guidance. The incumbent administers policies that directly affect subordinate staff, recommends changes to department policies and practices, identifies risks and responds accordingly and provides priority setting and work flow analysis. They may also make individual contributions as a developer when necessary.
APPOINTMENT INFORMATION
Budgeted Salary: $106,466 - $118,296/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The salary shown above is the budgeted amount the University reasonably expects to pay and the salary extended should not exceed this posted amount.

50% - Project Management

Manages and delegates applications programming assignments to teams based on skill set and business partner requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory and security mandates, system enhancements, improved functionality and data integration needs.

Monitors and communicates project status to the appropriate individuals.

Negotiates with stakeholders to find common ground on delivering solutions that meet business needs that don't increase technical debt.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Working knowledge of IT-related products and services, with an emphasis on Enterprise Systems like Ellucian / Banner products.

General knowledge of other areas of IT.

Expert knowledge in software engineering practices and secure software development.
