Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Job Description:
. Prepare new or updated Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans.
· Conduct safety inspections and audits to assess employee/employer compliance with safety regulations.
· Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of safety.
· Develops and implements a system to report, monitor, and correct safety problems.
· Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, compliance, and business efficiency.
. Investigate incidents to discover root cause and work with each department lead when necessary.
· Collaborates with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives and internal safety staff during formal
plant audits and inspections; documents corrective actions taken.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Associate or four-year college degree; or two to three years minimum related experience and/or training.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Ability to conduct training.
· Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
