Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Safety and Health Manager

  • AgReserves Inc. is seeking an insightful and collaborative Safety and Health Manager to develop and administer safety procedures, programs, and practices for River Point Farms and the onion packing & processing facilities. As an active participant of the local leadership team, the Safety Manager advises on regulatory issues and together ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations with a focus on continuous improvement of safety practices. A majority of work time is typically in the field observing and working with employees and their management.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, track, monitor, report and manage safety data metrics, programs, policies, and procedures.
    • Facilitate safety activities-safety drills, safety awareness, training, audits, inspections, incident investigations, prevention activities, and corrective actions.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.) to include required documentation.
    • Plan, prepare, and update written Emergency Evacuation Plans.
    • Assist with documentation and investigations of Workers' Compensation program.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or equivalent field of study.
    • 5 years of progressive experience in developing and managing safety, health and environmental programs required. Expert in Incident investigation.
    • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
    • Previous Agricultural or processing industry experience helpful.
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
    • Proficient computer and technical skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (writing, presenting, and reporting). Bilingual in Spanish desired.
    • Solid ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.
    • Valid driver's license with ability to travel locally to farms, offices, and processing plants within the assigned stewardship.
