Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. - Require successful completion of Armed Officer Psychological Evaluation (AOPE) administered by a Board-certified Police Psychologist.
- Require a favorable driving record and background check.
- Require flexibility in work schedule with the ability to work on other shifts when needed.
- Require the following IAHSS Certifications within the designated timeframe:
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within ninety (90) days from hire/promotion date.
- Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (CAHSO) within thirty (30) days from date CHSO certification is obtained.
Note: Maintaining active status of lower-level certifications will not be required once higher-level certification has been obtained.
- Require the following State of Florida Security Officer Licensure within the designated timeframe:
- Class D - Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date.
- Class G - Armed Security Officer Licensure within six (6) months of hire/promotion date.
Note: All licensures must be maintained active throughout employment.
- Prefer prior security and/or law enforcement experience.
- Prefer demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Require the ability to maintain a professional, confident demeanor in stressful situations.
- Prefer competency in use of computers.
- Prefer the ability to perform duties independently and with good judgment.
