Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager directs preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to environmental, health, and safety engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Site Safety and Health Officer

  • The individual in this role will be provide support to Construction field personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
    Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Serve as a point of contact for all staff and subcontract personnel in the area
    Build and manage relationships with employees and subcontractors to ensure timely submittal of all incidents
    Participate/Lead incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions
    Assist/perform Site Safety and regulatory audits
    Support personnel in completion of daily tasks in compliance with established Site Safety policies and procedures
    Support ongoing demolition activities on facilities and ensure compliance by employees and contractors
    Communicate and interpret applicable safety regulations
    Create and distribute area safety communications/alerts
    Assist in company-wide safety-related communications
    Coach employees/subcontractors on safety-related expectations and levels of performance
    Assist with employee health and worker's compensation cases
    Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree or certification in Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Safety, Engineering or other technical HSE field preferred. A combination of education, experience and training may be substituted for these requirements.
    Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in one or more of the applied areas and with experience working at a demolition site setting preferred, DoD, DOE and Federal site experience very helpful
    Effective verbal and written communication skills are required; Spanish speaking and comprehension is helpful
    The candidate will need excellent planning, organizational, training, teamwork and presentation skills
    Must be able to work effectively with people at all levels inside and outside the company
    Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
    Physical Demands:
    Works both indoors and outdoors in and around heavy equipment with temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
    Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
