Job Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is a management team member and is a strategic leader of EHS systems for compliance at the processing and tank yard locations. They are required be the subject matter expert and will help Hausbeck become an industry leader in environmental, health and safety operations. The EHS manager will encourage team effort and collaboration to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position drives problem identification, resolution, EHS system enhancement, continuous improvement, and new strategies to align with the company’s family values, purpose, mission, and vision statements.
Benefits – Medical, dental and vision; STD, LTD and Life company paid; 401k with company match. Employee pays only 15% of medical cost at $16.47/week for Single and $49.41/week for Family coverage (2024 Rates). Company contributes HSA dollars annually of $1,000 for a Single and $2,000 for a Family.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures.
- Coordinates EHS programs and training to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
- Tracks, maintains, and helps investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine cause and preventative measures.
- Facilitates monthly EHS team meetings.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of EHS programs and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
- Develops and administers EHS training programs.
- Be available to communicate to all three shifts regarding training and audits.
- Responsible for improvements and additions to the safety management program including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, general safety, and risk management.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Stops operations and activities that could harm staff or equipment by conducting physical audits of both company locations daily.
- Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems through job safety analysis processes.
- Shares environmental safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
- Manages departmental budget.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules and meets with sites and state/federal regulators as required.
- Manages the Safety Data Sheets for the organization, which includes the implementation of an electronic recordkeeping format utilizing a 3rd party software program.
- Manages chemical control and compliance to safety/regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for the monitoring and testing of wastewater discharge and the creation and submittal of monthly Compliance Monitoring Reports.
- Participates in conducting GMP audits of operations, tank yard, and warehouse areas.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, environment, environmental sciences, or occupational health and safety preferred.
- Engineering, chemistry, or other applied science degree with equivalent industry experience acceptable.
- A minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in design, development, and oversight of environmental compliance.
- A minimum of 5 years of design, development, and oversight of safety compliance.
- Strong experience interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety; transportation and environmental regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Specialist knowledge of Health & Safety risks: experience with safety, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene.
- Ability to multi-task: manage shifting priorities and project follow through with minimal supervision.
- Strong planning, organizational, group facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Strong experience interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety, transportation and environmental regulations.
- Ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical skills are necessary to evaluate needs, mandated programs, EHS strategic plans and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvements.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- Advance training or certifications in EHS preferred.
- Provide necessary papers allowing holder to work legally in the United States.
