GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position will support primarily Department of Defense (DoD) clients on federal facilities. This is a great opportunity for the ideal candidate who has proven experience, knowledge, ability to work well with a team, integrity and willing to be a leader on their assigned projects. Position is responsible for managing and adhering to HCG Corporate Safety Program supporting Vertical Construction Projects from $1M to $50M in value size. Represent HEFFLER CONTRACTING GROUP with integrity and assist in building a bridge of trust between our clients and HEFFLER.
· Work in conjunction with the Client, Field and Corporate staff to ensure SAFETY on all project assigned is the priority.
· Ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable OSHA and U.S. Navy requirements and regulations, and the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements Manual EM 385-1-1.
· Have the responsibility for the execution and continued development of the company overall safety program.
· Monitor performance standards for all projects assigned
· Prepare all required Safety Plans, AHA(s) for projects.
· Maintain and instill a culture of safety within the projects assigned
· Work closely with the Project Manager.
· Work as a member of the project team, including subcontractors, to ensure implementation and continuous monitoring of the provisions of the Project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
· Serves as or manage "Competent and/or Qualified Person" for activities including, but not necessarily limited to; Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Trenching, Lead Hazards, Hot Work, and Excavation.
· Maintaining a safe construction site through direction and training of workers, ensuring all persons on the job site are wearing PPE and safety equipment and written documentation to maintain accountability of sub-contractor work force.
· Provide full-time support in the field, on the construction projects, to assure operations are planned and conducted in a safe manner. Work to be sure key subcontractors are prepared ahead of time, have directions to the job site, and perform all work with the utmost quality safely
· Interface with Government Safety & Health Officer on site safety & health issues and coordinate preventative measures.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6 YEARS OF PROVEN SUCCESFUL FEDERAL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE AS AN ONSITE SITE SAFETY HEALTH OFFICER.
