Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. This position entails managing the maintenance, repair, testing, inspection, and certification of Electric Boat Groton's lifting equipment and nuclear handling gear in accordance with all legal, corporate, and contractually invoked requirements.
A key attribute to this position is the ability to work under pressure and external scrutiny while maintaining a close professional relationship with Electric Boat's Customer, auditors and all levels of Electric Boat management.
Candidates must be able to climb to heights of 150 feet, work outside in cold and inclement weather, and be on call24/7 to support Electric Boat's lifting needs.
