Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. EH&S Manager Summary: Plans, directs, and implements the organization's Environmental, Safety, and Health (EH&S) program, a healthy and environmentally compliant environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
EH&S Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy development, implementation, administration, training, and compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
Ensure that each facility has proper documentation, including current procedures and training records for record keeping on all activities to demonstrate compliance to government regulations, insurance requirements, and company policy.
Recommend systems and policies, which ensure compliance with applicable EH&S standards, governmental regulations and company goals/objectives.
Perform internal audits and inspections. Recommend corrective or preventative measures where indicated. Follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
Assist with customer EH&S audits and complete, as required, all safety and environmental questionnaires as submitted by our customers.
Review SDS sheets and, all new or modified processing equipment. Alert management as to any potential “unsafe” condition.
Chair of the site Safety Committee and provide guidance to management.
Accident investigation, file maintenance and OSHA record keeping.
Coordinate employee medical surveillance, industrial hygiene and environmental monitoring. Maintain safety files, records and training database.
Other duties may be assigned.
