Job: Health and Safety Manager
Salary: $90,000-$120,000 based on experience
Hours of Work: Non-shift scheduling and may require working long hours and weekends from time-to-time as workload requires.
Estimated travel – 5% - among various locations, as required. Must be able to work on the plant site. This is not a remote position.
Job Description: As Health and Safety Manager, you are responsible for all aspects of safety compliance, including the development of policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with current regulations and advance management’s strategic efforts in this area. You will keep up with regulatory and industry standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain a Safety annual budget and develop/ execute strategic and tactical HS plans to drive fatality prevention, increase risk recognition and reduce injuries/incidents through utilization of human performance tools.

Provides advice, coaching and counseling to location leaders to assist them in the execution of their EHS accountabilities.

Audits local programs, reports findings, and advises on corrective and preventative actions.

Act as the location representative to key internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain a working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and identify all requirements that apply or may apply to the facility.

Work closely with the location's medical operations and policies to manage health and safety.

Formulates general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention and safety program.

Inspects or tours organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated. • Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.

Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.

Devises, supervises, and coordinates training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
Technical experience of 7 years; 8-10 years of experience preferred.
Preferred experience in managing a team.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; preferred 5 years
Advance skills in Microsoft Suite
Experience working in the Aluminum industry is a plus.
