This is a full-time, exempt/salaried position on UCHealth’s Environmental Health & Safety team based at Memorial Administration Center (the MAC) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a 100% on-site position. Travel among local UCHealth facilities will be required.Monitors and reports on Environmental Health and Safety concerns. Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and the Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards. Reports on program performance. Assists with the evaluation of program goals and objectives and development of annual reports.
Monitors performance of Safety, Life Safety, and Hazardous Materials Management Programs. Performs periodic safety inspections, incident investigations, and fire/internal response drills. Coordinates industrial hygiene surveys and environmental monitoring. • Maintains environmental permits, occupational exposures records and supports OSHA record keeping. Responds to regulatory inspections and audits. Reviews environmental audit reports. • Assists with internal emergency response education. Contributes to the development and reporting on safety committee agenda items. • Assists in day-to-day functions such as purchasing, contract review, record retention, and database management.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health/Safety, required.
Required: 3 years in Environmental Health and Safety.
Preferred: Professional certification, OSHA 40 hours Hazardous Waste Operations, NFPA or related fields • Experience in a health care setting with an emphasis on the Joint Commission Environment of Care accreditation standards.
