Environmental Compliance Specialist conducts required environmental tests, analysis and observations. Evaluates results and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. Being an Environmental Compliance Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Environmental Compliance Specialist relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. This position is established at the Environmental Health Specialist 2 level. This classification, Environmental Health Specialist 1, will be used for training purposes of the Environmental Health Specialist 2 position. Through various types of on-the-job training and self-study, employees will learn to carry out the duties of the full working level (Environmental Health Specialist 2) and will be reclassified when full level is accomplished.
