    Job Description

    AECOM is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Editor to ensure compliance with a variety of federal requirements especially related to Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). If you are an experienced editor with an eye for compliance, we can provide the specific training necessary for you to thrive in this role.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Substantive editing of medium to large size, single or multi-author NEPA documents. 
    • Reviews content.
    • Ensures tone and voice of author(s) is consistent throughout document.
    • Ensures document is logically organized.
    • Corrects any inconsistencies in logic.
    • Helps define editorial processes to ensure the highest levels of effectiveness and accuracy.
    • Assists others in following the Company's office writing/editing and document production policies and procedures.
    • Receives occasional assistance from editorial manager.
    • Consults with supervisor regarding unusual problems and developments related to document and/or project deliverables.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience writing or editing documents with specific compliance requirements or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 5 years of relevant experience writing or editing documents with specific Section 508 compliance requirements; preferably related to federal documentation.
