Environmental Engineer identifies, assesses and resolves problems concerning the environment. May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water. Being an Environmental Engineer performs experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures. Ensures the organization's conformance to federal, state, and local environmental legislation. Additionally, Environmental Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Environmental Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Basic Job Functions :
The EHS Coordinator will have responsibilities for leading our safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations including OSHA and VPP.
In addition to these responsibilities, this individual will be responsible for collaborating with peer environmental and safety coordinators within Nucor Insulated Panel Group.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree related to Occupational Safety & Health / Environmental or 2 years of experience in a related field
- Proficiency with common software including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to travel.
Preferences :
- Understanding of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations affecting the industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental
- ISO 14001 : 2015 and 45001 : 2018 experience.
- Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan experience.
- Experience working with Safety Management Systems and standards in a manufacturing environment.
