Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Environmental Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     POSITION NAME: Environmental Geologist, Engineer, or Scientist

    LOCATION: Tulsa, OK

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION:  

    This position will be responsible for supporting remediation and environmental protection operations through the monitoring of collections and data, leading investigations, and preparing reports  on environmental projects.

     

    Principle Activities and Essential Functions:

    • Support technical work for corporations or government agencies in the investigation and cleanup of contaminated sites to protect human health and the environment.
    • Completion of Due Diligence related tasks for property transactions and corporate acquisitions.

    Functions Specific to Geology/ Environmental Science

    • Review and implement environmental technical standards, guidelines, policies, and formal regulations that meet all appropriate requirements.
    • Collect, synthesize, analyze, manage, and report environmental data, such as pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring measurements, meteorological or mineralogical information, and soil, soil gas, and water samples.
    • Prepare charts or graphs using monitoring data, to provide summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
    • Conduct environmental audits or inspections or investigations of violations.
    • Monitor effects of pollution or land degradation and recommend means of prevention or control.
    • Analyze data to determine validity, quality, and scientific significance and to interpret correlations between human activities and environmental effects.

    Functions Specific to Engineering

    • Inspect industrial or municipal facilities or programs to evaluate operational effectiveness or ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
    • Design, or support the design of systems, processes, or equipment for control, management, or remediation of water, air, and/or soil.
    • Direct installation and/or operation of environmental monitoring devices or supervise related data collection programs.
    • Prepare, review, or update environmental investigation or recommendation reports.
    • Collaborate with environmental scientists, geologists, hazardous waste technicians, engineers, experts in law or business, or other specialists to address environmental problems.
    • Prepare charts or graphs using monitoring data, to provide summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
    • Provide technical support for environmental remediation or litigation projects.

    Qualifications


    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Ability to write technical reports and create presentations.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific reports and regulations.
    • The collection, documentation, and management of samples.
    • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
    • Microsoft® Office Suite (strength in Excel a plus)
    • AutoCAD experience preferred.

     

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related field preferred.
    • 1 – 3 years’ experience in the environmental industry.
