Position Summary:Using a company service truck, the Technician Assistant is responsible for providing labor support to our field technicians. This position assists in repairs and adjustments of systems as well as installation of risers and repair landscaping as needed. This is the perfect position for a driver aspiring to earn their CDL. Wind River offers training for our non-CDL drivers to obtain their license at no cost to the employee!
Key Position Points:Location- Monroe, CTRequirements: Driver’s license and Customer service attitude
Compensation: $23-$25/hr. dependent on experienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities- Assists in the repairs and adjustments of septic systems to maintain the overall function of the system
- Assists in the installation of septic system risers and other system components
- Provide manual labor assistance to technicians in the field including digging & landscaping
- Load and unload vehicle
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, tools and hoses
- Provide excellent customer service
- Must be able to work overtime including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work on-call rotations as needed
- Must comply with all FMCSA and DOT regulations
- Must practice safe work methods to remain accident and injury free. Must have the ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.
- Follow safety rules and exercise safe work practice
Work Environment- You are regularly exposed outside weather conditions, non-hazardous fumes and noise
- Must be comfortable working independently
- Interaction with customers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to read and interpret documents including Company policies and procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps and road signs.
- Ability to speak, cooperate and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and management.
- Ability to work independently and manage pressure to meet deadlines.
- Basic computer literacy including email and internet skills.
- Ability to perform basic math functions.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma, or equivalent is required
- Willingness to use existing your talent and add comprehensive skills through on-the-job training
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment/DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical exam and road exams as required per position
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
- Must be able to meet physical demands evaluation
- Must be able to work overtime including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work on-call rotations as needed
