Summary

The Safety Intern will work under the supervision of the EHS Manager and will be responsible to uphold Safety programs at the Clearfield, Pennsylvania facility to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations, and Company Policies. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. To work on updating lock out tag out procedures.
2. To work on completing confined space entry procedures. 
3. Assist in near miss and incident investigations. 
4. Conduct onsite audits to evaluate safe work practices.
5. Assist in administering the day-to-day compliance of the contractor management system with regard to vetting contractors for the ability to provide services to PGP.
6. Assist in administering the online EHS management program to ensure all employees are enrolled in the system and data is accurate and up to date. 
7. Assist in updating and maintaining Safety and Environmental files.
8. Assist in administering and monitoring the facility wide safety program and recommend methods to ensure employee participation and the implementation of a successful safety culture. 
9. Complete all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

• High School Degree or GED and enrollment in a post-secondary education program for Occupational Safety and Health or a related field. 
• Ability to work 40 hours a week from approximately 05/20/2024 through 08/09/2024
• Proficient in the PC computing environment including Internet Explorer, Outlook; MS Excel, Word and Windows Operating System. Must have the ability to learn and work effectively with the plants distributed control system.
• This position does not offer housing or housing assistance. Must be able to commute to Clearfield, PA  Monday-Friday.
