Austin Powder is seeking to hire a full-time Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager to join our team at our Red Diamond Manufacturing plant in McArthur, Ohio.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager is responsible for maintain the License to Operate by ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable safety, health, and environmental regulations for the Red Diamond Plant in McArthur, Ohio. The manager will serve as a subject matter expert on all safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements. They will be responsible for managing compliance with regulations pertaining to air and water quality, overseeing waste management, managing spill response, and overseeing the site wastewater treatment facilities operations.
The Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager is responsible for escalating issues to site and company leadership, accurate and timely reporting to agencies, and reviewing of site projects from a Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) aspect. The position is responsible for the SHE compliance of a 2,000 acre complex with 50 various use buildings, which support production of chemically manufactured energetic materials and packaged explosives used in commercial applications.
The Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager works closely with plant management, engineers, maintenance, operations, and corporate support functions. The manager will oversee activities of the safety, health, and environmental team as well as work with regulators and 3rd party consultants to achieve and maintain full compliance. This position will have approximately 5 direct reports.
