Environmental, Health and Safety Director oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Director ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Environmental, Health and Safety Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health and Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     THE POSITION

    Staccato seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our growing team. You will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment in this role. This position will collaborate closely with operations, risk management, and insurance teams and support in a shared services environment across Staccato’s subsidiaries. This role reports to the Director of People Operations. 

    Requirements

     RESPONSIBILITIES

    · Daily oversight of cross-entities EHS priorities, policies and procedures, risk identification, remediation, and audit coordination

    · Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.

    · Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, as well as a schedule of routine inspections.

    · Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.

    · Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.

    · Monitors compliance with safety procedures and manages corrective actions.

    · Responsible for incident investigation, incident management, reporting, and tracking process.

    · Draft inspection reports to document inspection findings.

    · Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.

    · Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and pollutants, as required.

    · Guides, directs, and participates in all aspects of EHS risk assessment and the company’s certifications (ISO standards, EPA, TCEQ)

    · Performs other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    · A bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or a related field is required.

    · Five years of related experience is preferred. (manufacturing a plus)

    · Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.

    · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    · Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    · Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.

    · Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    · Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.

    · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    · Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at a time.
