Environmental, Health and Safety Director oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Director ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Environmental, Health and Safety Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health and Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Primary Purpose: To assist business unit personnel with activities relating to health, safety, and compliance matters, and to provide staff assistance to management in compliance and other designated support programs, such as ISO 9001, or corporate initiatives related to Health & Safety. This position is intended to support managerial conformity, applicable regulatory requirements, and internal policies and practices.

Education: Four-year college degree required. Health & Safety degree preferred
Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience working in Health & Safety related programs required. Safety Certifications CHST, COSS, OSHA 10/30 Hour a plus.
Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Thorough knowledge and understanding of all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services and safety industry. Good organizational skills. Interpersonal skills are essential. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
