Environmental, Health and Safety Director oversees organizational compliance with local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Ensures that environmental policy and procedure manuals are available and updated at all times. Being an Environmental, Health and Safety Director ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Environmental, Health and Safety Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health and Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Basic Job Functions :
The EHS Coordinator will have responsibilities for leading our safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations including OSHA and VPP.
In addition to these responsibilities, this individual will be responsible for collaborating with peer environmental and safety coordinators within Nucor Insulated Panel Group.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree related to Occupational Safety & Health / Environmental or 2 years of experience in a related field
- Proficiency with common software including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to travel.
Preferences :
- Understanding of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations affecting the industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental
- ISO 14001 : 2015 and 45001 : 2018 experience.
- Process Safety Management and Risk Management Plan experience.
- Experience working with Safety Management Systems and standards in a manufacturing environment.
